Things to do

Penrallt Meredith is situated in the small village of Pontyglasier inside the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park just 5 miles from the sea.

We are an ideal base from which to explore the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Preseli hills (the origin of the bluestones of Stonehenge) and Cardigan coast. The towns of Cardigan, Fishguard and Newport are all within a short drive.

Newport, just 15 mins drove from here is well known for its for good food, antiques, beach and boat club. Fifteen minutes north along the coast is the larger town of Cardigan for shops, food, an excellent multi-screen cinema and arts theatre.

Also to the south, just 30 mins drive away is the bustling Narberth with its lovely shops and cafes including a fantastic Spanish deli-cum-cafe, good gift and antique shops is a must.

St David's Cathedral

St David’s Cathedral

The small city of St Davids is only 45 mins drive away with its important and beautiful cathedral, superb visitors information centre, good shops and cafes.

The north Pembrokeshire area is packed with things to see and do. Churches, castles, county towns, markets, excellent restaurants, outdoor pursuits such as mountain walking, golf, horse riding (nearby), cycling, historical reserve at Castell Henllys a few miles from us.

Cardigan Bridge

Cardigan Bridge

In Nevern you’ll find the historical 11th Century Church and Celtic Cross with its world famous ‘Bleeding Yew Tree’ in the graveyard. The burial grounds at Brynberian are of great interest.

There is an abundance of wildlife including red kites soaring above and otters playing in the river which meanders just a stone’s throw away.

There are plenty of excellent walks direct from the doorstep around the farm and riverbanks on land farmed by the family, on public footpaths and country lanes. We are on the doorstep of the Preseli Hills and the coast, so the possibilities further afield are limitless.

Pembrokeshire is home to more Blue Flag beaches than anywhere else in Britain.
